On tuesday, september 2, 2008, hazel’s plans included picking up helen and taking her to the doctor. But when hazel didn’t show up as expected, helen — also of des moines — drove over to her sister’s southeast watrous avenue house just after 1 p.M. There, in the home’s kitchen, she found a bloody, horrific crime scene leading to the basement, where she discovered her sister’s lifeless body in a pool of blood.Agency
