On march 8, 1982, at about 5:00 a.M., a deceased female, later identified as kathy ann miramontes (aka-sweetie) was located at approximately 5:00 a.M. On chase court in the niles district of fremont. Miramontes’ body showed signs of extreme trauma. Fremont detectives investigated the case, but it ultimately went unsolved. The department’s cold case detective began reviewing the case approximately two and half years ago. After meeting with family and friends of kathy miramontes, her case was officially reopened in an effort to spark new leads in the investigation and ultimately provide closure to her family.
