On december 17th, 2002 sanford police officers responded to the wooded area located behind 1706 west 13th street (rescue outreach mission) in reference to a body. The deceased was described as a white male, with brown hair, lying face down, wearing only a red pullover shirt lifted up over his shoulders and a pair of socks. The deceased was covered with a blanket. The deceased was identified as michael walker. Walker had suffered numerous stab wounds and cuts to his scalp, neck and upper torso.
