On june 18, 2019, just before midnight, christopher lebert, 36, possibly got into an altercation with unknown person(s) in a chevy tahoe near 8th and hyder. Lebert left the area on his motorcycle at a high rate of speed headed south to 15th and then west on 15th to minnesota with the driver of the tahoe pursuing him. The high-speed chase ended on minnesota near 15th avenue. Lebert was found deceased. Detectives are not releasing the cause of death at this time. Police found the tahoe had been stolen that night from the port of anchorage area; it was recovered in turnagain, shortly after the fatality.
