Date: 06/29/2008 time: 0540 hours location: between 53 & 54 william clark court (goldsboro) sanford, fl 32771 manner of death: homicide motive: drug transaction/robbery on june 29th, 2008 sanford police officers were dispatched to william clark housing projects in reference to a traffic crash involving a blue colored saturn, with a hungry howie’s delivery sign on its roof. As officers were responding they encountered a blue saturn with heavy front end damage in the area of 9th street and french avenue. Contact was made with three occupants, two males and a female. The male driver, identified as benjamin lovingood, was found to be unresponsive behind the steering wheel. Lovingood sustained injury to his back from a single bullet. Several bullet holes were observed in the rear of the vehicle as well. Lovingood was pronounced deceased as a result of his injury. The witnesses in the vehicle described being in the william clark housing projects in an attempt to purchase narcotics. At that time three unknown black males opened fire on them while they were in the vehicle. The vehicle fled, crashing into a telephone pole, then continued to flee to the area where police encountered it.
