Info

On 10/27/1989, 10yr old amy mihaljevic was kidnapped from the bay square shopping center parking lot in bay village, ohio. Weeks prior to her abduction, amy was contacted via telephone by the abductor, who arranged to meet her after school on 10/27/1989, on the pretext of buying a gift for her mother who had recently been promoted. Eye witnesses at the bay square shopping center saw amy speaking with a white male estimated in his 30's. Amy was last seen walking through the parking lot with the unknown male. No vehicle was seen. An intense investigation conducted by the bay village police and cleveland fbi ensued. On 02/08/1990, amy's body was found by a jogger in a farm field, close to the road, off county road 1181 in ruggles township (rural ashland county, oh). The crime scene appeared to indicate that amy's body was most likely dumped shortly after her abduction. Amy's cause of death was determined to be a combination of stab wounds to the neck and a blow to her head. Amy's boots that she was wearing, a denim backpack she was carrying, a binder with "Buick, best in class" written on same in her backpack and turquoise earrings in the shape of horse heads she was wearing, were all missing and have never been located. Amy was most likely sexually assaulted.
