Date: 10/06/2007 time: 0812 hours (body discovered) location: directly across from 1002 celery avenue (georgetown) sanford, fl 32771 (south side of roadway) victim: david santiago (no public photo available) dob: 11/25/1968 race: white/hispanic sex: male cause of death: blunt force trauma to the head manner of death: homicide motive: suspected drug transaction/robbery on october 6th, 2007 sanford police officers responded to the area of celery avenue and bay avenue in reference to a hispanic male, found unconscious lying on the grass easement on the south side of the roadway. The victim, identified as david santiago, was suffering from obvious head trauma. Santiago was airlifted to orlando regional medical center where he passed away from his injuries. Investigation discovered that santiago was last seen by a family member at his residence early that morning in the celery lakes subdivision. Santiago left the residence on foot west towards georgetown it is suspected to purchase narcotics. Family members advised that a firearm, owned by santiago was missing, and that he always carried it with him.
