On december 21, 2021, at approximately 0400 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting at 108 w. County street. Officers arrived and located albers sitting on the back steps of the residence slumped over suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics pronounced albers deceased on scene.
