At approximately 12:45 a.M., west precinct officers were dispatched to a person shot call at a residence in the 3700 block of pine avenue southwest.Officers arrived on the scene and then entered the residence when they observed the victim unresponsive suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the deceased victim.The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was shot during a domestic violence incident.Early sunday, bpd crime reduction team officers took the suspect into custody in birmingham.Homicide detectives interviewed the suspect at birmingham police headquarters; he was then booked into the birmingham city jail under a 48-hour felony extension for capital murder (child present).
