Marty shook, a 21 year old white male, left sparks nevada on june 12, 1982 sometime in the afternoon. Shook told family members he was going to colorado to look for work and that he would be hitch hiking. Shook was an accomplished hitcher and would travel the same route exclusively. Nothing is known of the victims activities from the time he left the reno area until his body was found in wasatch county, utah on june 14, 1982. On june 14, 1982 wasatch county received a call regarding a possible homicide/dead body discovered near daniels creek on hwy 40. The body was located by a fisherman . Wasatch county deputies responded to where the body was located. At the scene the body of a white male adult was located on the south side of u.S. 40, within three feet of daniels creek. The body was found nude, lying on his back, with his knees pulled slightly up, as if he had been picked up and dropped into the willows at the edge of the creek. The male had shoulder length auburn hair, a thin scraggly beard and mustache. There was a fair amount of blood on the head and face of the victim. The male subject had identifying tattoos: a black spider on a red back ground located above his left breast and a lightning bolt with the word “crash” inscribed through it located on his upper arm. Upon moving the body it was discovered that the subject had been castrated. Genitalia was completely absent. Autopsy reports states the male dies of a single gunshot wound to the back of the head, behind the left ear from a .38 caliber weapon. Castration was done post mortem. It is believed the body was dumped after death so an additional crime scene is possible. The victim left nevada with his personal belongings in a back pack that he carried, along with a bed roll and the clothes he was wearing. No idea how much if any money he was carrying. None of the victims belongs were recovered.

She disappeared early in the evening after she left her apartment in the apollo park neighborhood to visit a local tavern. She was last seen wearing a brown suede jacket, blue jeans, a ski cap, and boots. She has never been heard from again. Although never charged in her case, serial killer ted bundy confessed to cunningham's murder. Bundy stated that he lured her into his vehicle by posing as an injured skier on crutches and asking her to help carry his ski boots. He claims he knocked her unconscious, drove her to a remote area about eighty miles west of vail and raped her. He states he strangled her and then disposed of her body in a shallow grave near rifle, co in a high desert area with a circular drive and some large trees. Her body was never found, however. Shortly after 3:30am on the morning of january 16, 2000, firefighters were called to the scene of a car fire near a pull-off area on bench blvd. In billings heights. When firefighters opened the trunk of the burning car they discovered a body, later identified as jeanette atwater. The previous evening, this attractive young billings woman, and the mother of three small children had attended an office party with several co-workers from the napa store where she worked. The major clue in this case is video from the cenex convenience store located near the crime scene. The store's video monitoring system recorded a male, approximately 5'8" in height, wearing a dark coat and pants. The suspect got into an older model compact car...Possibly brown in color with an orange stripe on the side. Drawings of the suspect and vehicle were made and circulated. To-date, no arrests have been made.

An eyewitness said rebeterano got into an altercation with johnston, and she later saw reberterano carrying a large white bundle out of her apartment. Blood spatter was found in the apartment and johnston’s vehicle. Rebeterano was convicted of second-degree felony homicide and sentenced to prison. Rebeterano was released from custody after five years and now lives in salt lake city, utah.

Rico, age 74, was at his home located at 3250 w. 3500 s. In the early morning hours of december 31, 1977. He was making repairs and was working under his kitchen sink when he was shot from outside the house through the kitchen window. Rico stood and went to the front porch after reportedly hearing loud pops, not yet realizing he’d been shot. He then proceeded to go back into his house once he realized he’d been injured to call police. Rico survived the initial life threatening injuries but succumbed to secondary complications a couple of months later. Robbery did not appear to be a motive in the shooting.

On september 24, 2005, 35 year old michelle vanek had come up from denver that morning and left half moon campground around 7:00 a.M. To go hiking. Near the summit of mt. Holy cross, michelle stated she was very tired and her friend told her to wait and he would go to the top and be right back. The friend stated he advised michelle if she wanted to head back down, to follow the trail and he would catch up with her. On his way down, the friend did not locate michelle. He stated he went back up to look for her and had talked to several hikers in the area. All had told him they had not seen her. The friend told deputies that michelle was a tri-athlete, but was an inexperienced high altitude hiker. Deputies were advised michelle was wearing a red shirt and black pants with hiking boots. The friend also advised michelle had approximately 3-4 layers of clothes with her. During the hike, michelle had run out of drinking water at approximately 1:15 p.M., when she stopped to rest.
