On may 24, 1992, 30-year-old mary lee gericke and her eight-year-old daughter, victoria, died of smoke inhalation as a result of a fire in their apartment, which was located at the 1400 block of hadwick drive, 21221. The victims' husband/father was able to escape the fire with substantial injuries. Investigators determined the fire to be the result of arson.
