At approximately 4:00 pm, birmingham 9-1-1 received call regarding a person shot in the 2600 block of 5th ave s. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue service arrived to the scene where they pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was involved in a verbal altercation which escalated with a tow truck driver which led to the shooting incidentAgency
