Arrest at 400 BLOCK OF E. GOLF ROAD on 10/10/2026 12:00 AM

Description: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol / DUI with a BAC Over .08 / Traffic. Des Plaines Police responded to a motor vehicle accident reported in the area of Golf Road and Wolf Road. When the officer arrived, they learned that the subject, [individual] was driving a silver Ford Escape traveling east on Golf Road approaching the red light at Wolf Road in the inside lane. At the light, [individual] failed to reduce speed and exited his lane of travel into the outside lane striking the victim's rear driver's side bumper.  While speaking with [individual], the officer noted that he had watery/bloodshot eyes and there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. [individual] stated he was driving the vehicle when he lost control navigating the curve on Fold Road and struck the other vehicle. At that time, the officer suspected that [individual] was intoxicated and asked him to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, to which he agreed.  Upon completion of the tests, [individual] showed visible signs of impairment and was taken into custody. He was then transported to the Des Plaines Police station where he was asked to provide a breath alcohol sample. The result of said sample was over twice the legal limit. [individual] was subsequently arrested for one misdemeanor count each of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and DUI with a BAC Over .08; ticketed for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. He was cited and released with his court information.
