On july 25, 2009, aurora police responded to a report of a shooting on the 9500 block of colfax avenue. Upon arrival, officers located two adult females and two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Three were treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds, but 26 year old angel thomas died a short time later from the injuries she sustained. The shootings are believed to be gang related.
