Description: Possession of a Controlled Substance x2. Des Plaines Police responded to the 2600 Block of S. Mannheim Road to assist the Des Plaines Fire Department with an ambulance call. When officers arrived, they spoke with a taxicab driver who stated he had picked up the subject, [individual], from O'Hare International Airport and while driving, [individual] offered him a piece of candy. The driver accepted it and upon consuming, started to feel sick so he pulled over and called 9-1-1. The officer then spoke with [individual] about what he had given the driver when he produced a purple box labeled Baked in Bushwick Mushroom Dark Chocolate . The contents of the box were stated to contain psilocybin, an illegal schedule 1 controlled substance in Illinois. Officers took [individual] into custody, and a search of his bag yielded a plastic bag containing capsules with a white powdery substance.  [individual] and the recovered items were transported to the Des Plaines Police station and using a Narcotics Identification Kit, learned that the white substance was positive for the probable presence of ketamine. [individual] was subsequently arrested for two felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was later brought to a Cook County courthouse for a detention hearing.
