Description: Aggravated Assault / Resisting a Peace Officer. Des Plaines Police responded to a disturbance call in the 400 Block of Florian Drive where it was learned that the subject, [individual], was intoxicated and was refusing to leave the property. Officers made contact with [individual] who stated that following a verbal argument with residents at the home, he was asked to leave. Officers reiterated to [individual] that he was being asked to leave and needed to do so which lead the officers to escorting him out of the home and down the driveway. While doing so, [individual] made multiple threats that he would re-enter the residence. Officers again told him he needed to leave when [individual] turned around in close proximity to one of the officers and threatened to hit him. [individual] made advances towards the officer causing the officer to believe that [individual] was going to carry out his statement. At that time, officers attempted to place [individual] in handcuffs when he repeatedly pulled his arms away from the officers to prevent them from doing so. Eventually, [individual] was escorted to the ground and taken into custody. He was transported to the Des Plaines Police station and due to the nature of the incident, the Cook County State's Attorney's [individual] was contacted and who approved felony charges. [individual] was subsequently arrested for one felony count of Aggravated Assault to a Peace Officer and one misdemeanor count of Resisting a Peace Officer. He was cited and released with his court information.
