Description: Traffic Pursuit: On 09/10/2026 at approximately 2137 hours, AST observed a silver 2011 Ford Escape traveling 73 mph in a near Crusey St and attempted a traffic stop, after which the driver fled and led officers on a dangerous, 7-minute, 4.7-mile pursuit through Wasilla at highly erratic speeds, repeatedly failing to stop at lights and signs, driving on shoulders, crossing center lines, nearly hitting multiple vehicles, and reaching speeds as high as 85 mph in residential areas. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into trees at a residence on Susitna Dr. The driver, identified as a subject was located tangled in fencing at a nearby residence and taken into custody without further incident. Debaere showed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming marijuana earlier that day and alcohol that morning. Marijuana products were found in the vehicle. a subject was remanded to MSPT for Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer, Reckless Driving, and DUI.
