Description: Felony Eluding: On 08/21/2026 at approximately 1548 hours, Alaska State Troopers located a vehicle registered to Travis McHone, age 40 of Kenai, in the area of Kalifornsky Beach Road and Sterling Hwy. McHone is wanted on two felony probation warrants with the original charge of robbery. After locating the vehicle on Kalifornsky Beach Road, Troopers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle that immediately failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit the vehicle reached speeds of over 100 MPH, nearly caused several head on collisions, passed on the left on double yellows, and also passed on the shoulder on the right. Due to the driver’s dangerous driving behavior, and that he was positively identified, the pursuit was discontinued. The pursuit lasted from mile 96 Sterling Hwy to Mile 104 Sterling Hwy. AST later located the vehicle abandoned at a property near 105 Mile of the Sterling Hwy. Anyone who took evasive action during the pursuit is encouraged to call Soldotna AST at (907) 262-4453 to report what they witnessed.
