Description: Aggravated Battery x2 / Resisting a Peace Officer. Des Plaines Police responded to the 1000 Block of Walter Avenue for the report of a battery that had occurred. The caller advised that the subject, [individual], had cut her finger with a knife. Officers responding to the area located the victim, a 67-year-old female Des Plaines resident, who was outside the residence. The victim stated that [individual] has been staying in an RV on the property and on today's date he had threatened her with a knife. The victim attempted to push [individual] away when her hand came in contact with the blade and cut her. While speaking with the victim, [individual] had come to the front driver's seat door but then went back into the RV and refused to come out when told to by officers. [individual] was told to step out of the RV multiple times and also that he was resisting arrest by not complying with officers. Officers were able to enter the RV and grab [individual] when he attempted to bite them. While escorting [individual] out of the RV he repeatedly flailed his body to get away from the officers. Eventually, [individual] was successfully placed in handcuffs and then transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Due to the nature of the incident, officers contacted the Cook County State's Attorney's Office who approved felony charges. [individual] was subsequently arrested for two felony counts of Aggravated Battery and one misdemeanor count of Resisting a Peace Officer. He will later be brought to a Cook County courthouse for a detention hearing. There is no photo available at this time.
