Description: Arson Bomb Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Jericho woman for an incident that occurred on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2:37 a.m. in Jericho. According to detectives, Second precinct officers responded to the Inn at Jericho, located at 101 Jericho Turnpike, for a disturbance. Upon arrival it was determined that the [subject], was observed by an employee of the establishment on live security camera exit her room holding a pillowcase that was on fire and threw it on the floor. The defendant then returned to her room. The employee extinguished the fire and called police. After a thorough investigation officers placed the defendant into police custody without incident. A Nassau County Police Department Ambulance transported the defendant to a local hospital for evaluation. The investigation is ongoing. [subject] is charged with Attempted Arson 2nd Degree and Arson 5th Degree. She will be arraigned on Monday, August 10, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street. Hempstead.
