Description: Phone Scam: The complainant stated someone called her cell phone claiming to be with the fraud department of American Express. The subject claimed there had been fraud on her American Express card and it was used to illegally buy several firearms in New York. The complainant informed the subject she did not have an American Express card and was never in New York to purchase guns. The complainant was given a phone number to the New York Police Department and told she needed to call them to make a statement. She called the number and spoke to three subjects claiming to be police officers. The subjects demanded to video chat and show her Illinois driver's license to them. The complainant was able to determine it was a scam. The subjects continued to call and harass the complainant.
