On june 6, 2010 at 0257 the olmsted township police department was contacted in reference to a pedestrian being stuck by a vehicle near 7469 fitch road. The male was identified as jay kovitch and he was pronounced deceased on scene by the olmsted township paramedics. It was determined that jay was walking home to his residence near where he was struck. No one observed the hit and run take place and at the time of the incident and through the investigation on scene, there was heavy and constant rainfall. The ohio state patrol and the ohio bureau of criminal investigation were contacted and requested to the scene for assistance. There are no current leads as to the operator of the suspect vehicle nor is there any viable evidence in this case.
