South precinct officers were responding to a call of a deceased person on the side of the road at 17th street sw and laurel avenue.When officers arrived on the scene, they observed the victim lying unresponsive on the side of the road, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue services arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.The preliminary investigation suggests that a citizen observed the victim lying on the side of the road and called 911 emergency services.The victim was reported missing on sunday, february 25, 2024, by a family member.Agency
