On july 17, 2014, at approximately 12:20 a.M., the lvmpd call center received 911 calls reporting several gunshots in the 8300 block of lower trailhead avenue. Patrol officers and medical personnel responded and discovered marvin surrell, 22, deceased from gunshot wounds. Surrell became the victim of a homicide during a home invasion; several items were also taken along with surrell’s car. Witnesses observed a second unknown race male drive away in a dark colored sedan type vehicle toward the area of durango and blue diamond.Agency
