On february 24, 1984, an individual was walking home at approximately 6 pm on ne cornfoot road when he observed what appeared to be a body lying in the amid the blackberry bushes on the bank of the columbia slough less than a quarter mile east of ne 47th avenue. Police responded to discover gustavo espinoza, a 20 year-old hispanic man, had died as the result of a gunshot wound. Mr. Espinoza was born in mexico and was rumored to be dealing heroin at the time of his murder. He was last seen at a duplex on the 6800 block of ne cornfoot road during the evening prior to his discovery.
