On december 23, 1975, a truck driver discovered a body in a field on the east side of maryland route 75, about 200 feet north of maryland route 144, 1/2 mile east of new market. The victim, identified as chopan byrd from baltimore, md, had been shot to death. Two individuals were arrested at the time, but the cases were never tried due to lack of evidence.Agency
