On 10/24/2008 at 0327 hours, ogden city police officers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the 1900 block of wall ave where a car had crashed into a building. The driver of the car was transported to the hospital where he was deceased. The initial investigation discovered the driver of the car had been shot. The victim/driver of the car, jeffrey allen bancroft, worked the graveyard shift at a business in ogden and was on his lunch break. Bancroft had driven to a a fast food business in the area of 36th and washington where he purchased food. Jeffrey was driving north on wall avenue in the 1900 block when his car crashed. Leads were pursued by investigators but a perpetrator has not been identified.
