On May 1, 1968, skeletal remains of a male adult were found partially buried in a shallow grave a short distance from the shoulder of the road of Highway 299, approximately six miles west of Willow Creek. The man is believed to have been deceased over six months prior to the discovery of his remains. The deceased is believed to be a white male, possibly of European descent, 5 feet 4.25 inches – 5 feet 8.5 inches tall, medium to heavy build, brown hair, 40 – 55 years old, with a deep chest and stock trunk. The decedent was found wearing a knitted nylon olive green slip-over shirt, gray cotton twill trousers with an elastic belt and lion emblem belt buckle, and brown ¾ lace top boots.Agency
