On Friday, September 5, 1996, Riverside Police Officers responded to 7756 California Street for a shooting. The victim, 24-year-old Christopher Alvarez, was shot and then ran to a nearby apartment for help. He was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, but he ultimately died from the multiple gunshot wounds he suffered.
