On may 31, 1996, officers responded to 47th and thompson court on reports of shots fired and an injury accident. Upon arrival, officers located 20 year old maximino verlin slumped over his vehicle. The vehicle had struck a parked car. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital. Mr. Verlin was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation found mr. Maximino was being chased by others in a second vehicle. During the chase suspects fired at his vehicle and shot and killed him.
