Shortly, after 9 p.M., west precinct officers responded to the 1500 block of 51st street ensley on report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim lying unresponsive in the front yard of a residence. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to children’s hospital; later the victim succumbed to his injuries. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim suffered a gunshot wound injury while at a private residence. At this time, the investigation surrounding this incident has led to this case being deemed accidental. There are no additional details available from bpd.Agency
