On december 17, 2016, at approximately 1:42 a.M., columbus police officers were called to 1561 duxberry avenue on the report of a collapsed male inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, later identified as 35yr old darrin mitchell, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Cfd medic 18 responded to the scene and transported mr. Mitchell to grant medical center in critical condition. After a short time, mr. Mitchell succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at 2:18 a.M. By the attending physicians. Witness accounts stated that mr. Mitchell arrived home having already been shot and collapsed upon entering the home. There are no known witnesses to the shooting and no known motive.Agency
