On the evening of march 15, 1974, 43 year old richard pejskar was working at the american liquor store, which was located near west alameda avenue and lipan street. An unknown suspect entered the liquor store and confronted richard during an apparent robbery attempt. The suspect shot richard and immediately fled from the scene. Richard was transported to a local hospital and died shortly after arrival. In addition to his job at the liquor store, richard pejskar was also a mechanic.
