Info

On friday, september 7,1973 at 8:30 pm, an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest was found laying next to his blue 1972 dodge pickup truck in the newly constructed rear parking lot of st. Francis hospital at 700 e, colorado avenue. He was immediately taken into the nearby emergency department where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The victim, francis "Frank" conroy was missing his wallet and was presumed to be the victim of a robbery. Mr. Conroy had been working as a civilian computer operator at fort carson and lived alone in an apartment located on carmel drive. Investigators interviewed numerous acquaintances of the victim but did not discover any obvious motive related to his business or personal relationships. Several years after the crime, two purported witnesses identified a local man as the suspect in this case stating that the shooting occurred during a random robbery attempt. Investigators were unable to conclusively corroborate this information and the suspect could not be prosecuted at that time. No new suspects have as of yet been identified and the case remains open.
