On july 2, 1977, in the early morning hours, overland park police responded to an anonymous call that a person had been severely injured, and needed assistance in a blue house near 87th and lowell. Responding officers located 19-year-old anthony "Tony" payne inside a residence in the 7900 block of w. 87th street in critical condition. Payne was taken to the hospital, but died later that day.Agency
