On october 27, 1987, at approximately 7:10 p.M., melvin smith, an evangelist preacher from st. Louis, missouri, exited the south side of the holiday inn located at 15500 east 40th avenue. Mr. Smith was loading items into his vehicle when he was shot in the back with a high powered rifle. Several hotel employees were nearby at the time of the shooting. Witnesses saw no vehicles or movement in the parking lot, but did hear a gunshot. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the aurora police department.Agency
