On october 2, 1961, rosetta witt was shot in the grocery store attached to her home at 5050 carr street in jefferson county. Money was missing from the cash register. Shortly before the shooting a white male about 30 to 35 years of age, 5'8 to 5'10, 165-175 pounds, with dark hair in a pompadour style, was seen in the store. The man got into a two tone blue or bluish green 1950 to 1954 oldsmobile type car with a female.
