On july 15, 1992, erica espinoza was shot and killed during a drive-by shooting while standing at her front door in the 5000 block of rita. Neither she nor her home were the intended targets. The intended target was a neighbor. A second person was also hit by the shooting but survived. Several suspects were identified in this case, and the driver of the vehicle stood trial and was found guilty. He is currently serving time for murder. There was not enough information to prosecute the actual "Shooter" in this case, and police are still seeking information. He was described as a latin male, and was 17–19 years old at the time of the shooting. The vehicle was a black honda accord.
