Theft at 1500 BLOCK OF RICE RD, CHEHALIS, WA on 05/24/2026 12:00 AM
Type: Theft
Date: 05/24/2026 12:00 AM
Description: Theft 2nd Degree/Eluding. Two black males, late 20s to mid-30s, in a white Chevrolet Trax with no license plates, broke into multiple vehicles in Centralia and Chehalis, stealing wallets and handbags. The males tried to use the stolen cards to buy gift cards at several locations in Centralia. An officer found the vehicle after one of the vehicle prowls and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, scraping the side of a citizen’s vehicle as it drove around it, and then headed northbound on I-5. Centralia officers pursued, joined by Lewis and Thurston County, but had to end the chase near exit 95 due to public safety concerns and a large gap between officers and the suspect. The suspect vehicle was driving on the shoulders, weaving between cars, and showing reckless disregard for safety. This case remains under investigation.
