At approximately 9:00 pm, south precinct officers were dispatched to 424 commons drive (in town suites) on report of shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene and learned a person was shot inside of a room. Officers observed the victim lying unresponsive inside of a room suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
