On the evening of july 3, 1991, her husband came home to their studio apartment at the jefferson plaza at 1515 sw jefferson street to find her deceased. An autopsy concluded that li yang had died as the result of strangulation. It was reported that ms. Yuan had been romantically involved with others outside of her marriage.
