At approximately 1:25 p.M. A south precinct officer was patrolling the 900 block of 47th street north when the officer heard several gunshots being fired. Shot spotter alerts directed the officer to a nearby apartment building in the 900 block of 47th street north. The officer observed the victim lying unresponsive in a courtyard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.Agency
