On august 12, 1980 members of the denver police and fire departments responded to the jefferson hotel located at 1529 champa street on a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, the building was engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, john simmons and two other residents were found dead inside. Despite the joint investigation by denver arson and homicide detectives, no suspect(s) were identified.Agency
