On april 8, 2006, the colorado state patrol received a call of a traffic accident in the 3500 block of west 53rd avenue in unincorporated adams county, colorado. Upon arrival, they found a dodge pickup against a telephone pole with one occupant inside the vehicle. The individual, subsequently identified as herman pena-pena, was transported to st. Anthony central hospital where he was pronounced dead. At the hospital, it was discovered that pena-pena suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. It was determined mr. Pena-pena had been in the vicinity of 51st and federal boulevard about an hour prior to the accident and had left with an unknown female.
