At approximately 7:05 pm, west precinct officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of 60th street ensley on report of a person shot. The call details stated a female shot a male and fled the location. Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim lying unresponsive in the front yard of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. While officers were on the scene, a female called 911 to notify she had just shot a male on 60th street ensley. The female was now in fairfield, alabama. Officers took the female into custody in fairfield. She will be questioned by detectives at birmingham police headquarters. Detectives will present the case information to the jefferson county district attorney’s office who will determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
