On december 1, 1990, norman fitch was found by teenagers, beaten and unconscious, off a dirt road along interstate 40 in franklin county. He was transported for emergency treatment and then transferred to a nursing home in fort smith. He passed away on december 11, 1990, from blunt force injuries, including a depressed skull fracture, that occurred 10 days earlier.
