On november 08, 2002, aprile mcintosh was found murdered, within her bedroom by her estranged husband michael mcintosh and son phillip. Aprile had recently obtained a domestic violence injunction against her husband. The injunction was granted due to a previous domestic violence incident that michael mcintosh was arrested on. On the night of her murder, michael mcintosh called the hillsborough county sheriff's office claiming to have had a vision that something happened to aprile and requested law enforcement's assistance. Michael mcintosh arrived at the residence located at 17807 crystal cove pl and insisted his child accompany him as he discovered her deceased. Aprile mcintosh died as a result of blunt trauma to the upper torso. Michael mcintosh attempted to collect on his wife's life insurance but was ultimately denied.
