On june 30, 2017 at approximately 10:25 p.M., lvmpd patrol officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of vintage wine avenue to investigate reports of possible gunshots heard and a person down in the street. Arriving officers located an adult male later identified as eric brooks lying in the street near a small residential park suffering from apparent multiple gunshots. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced brooks deceased at the scene. The investigation initiated by the lvmpd homicide section indicated brooks had been seen sitting on a bench in the park a few minutes before the shots were heard. A dark colored kia suv was also parked nearby. After the shots were heard, the kia suv was seen leaving the area and brooks was found on the ground. The investigation also indicated brooks may have gone to the park for an arranged meeting with an unknown person. No suspect or suspects have been identified and the motive is unknown.Agency
