At approximately 10:55 p.M., north precinct officers responded to a call of a single vehicle collision on interstate 65 (I-65) north and 32nd avenue exit. While en route, the call was updated to a person shot.When officers arrived on the scene, they observed the victim in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to uab hospital. Shortly after arrival, the victim was pronounced deceased by uab medical staff.The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was traveling on I-65 north when shots were fired into his vehicle, wounding the victim.
