On july 1, 1973, the colorado springs police department received a call reference a possible dead body located in the palmer park area of colorado springs. The body of mary byrd was found, deceased from multiple stab wounds. Later in the investigation it was determined that mary byrd came to colorado springs to work as a prostitute. Several persons of interest were interviewed however, no suspects were identified. The investigation into ms. Byrd's death remains open.
